Efforts to reopen the historic Wheaton Grand Theater on Hale Street will continue this Saturday at the Wheaton’s Got Talent fundraiser.
The event will feature 20 finalist competitors, including former Wheaton resident and contender on NBC’s “The Voice” Michael Lynch, who will headline the event at Wheaton Warrenville High School.
The winner will receive $2,000 and the opportunity to perform live at the
2014 Taste of Wheaton festival and during the grand opening week of the new theater.
The show has been in the works for months and has received help from across the Wheaton community, said Grand Theater Corp. Project Manager Rick Erickson.
“It’s a big community win,” Erickson said. “This event will create a lot of dialogue around the Wheaton Grand Theater, a lot of discussion or even questions.”
