Alabama entered Monday night’s national championship game as a 5-point favorite, but were surprisingly taken to the woodshed by Clemson in a 44-16 blowout.
Many Bama fans thought the previously undefeated Tide were a lock to to win another title, and one radio station in Birmingham is actually running ads for a local sporting goods store that was so confident about the outcome they prematurely cut an ad selling Bama national championship gear. It started running last night and obviously didn’t age well.
This is some embarrassing crow to eat. Something tells us the “National Champion Runners-Up” shirts won’t be flying off the shelves at the same rate.
Here is the commercial currently running on @WJOX945 here in Birmingham.
Obviously, it’s a prerecorded advertisement to push #Alabama title gear at local Academy Sports locations across the state but it’s still funny. #NationalChampionship #RollTide pic.twitter.com/ahN1xhGjPv
