Probably the biggest storyline from the NFL offseason has been Antonio Brown’s falling out with the Steelers, and his long-time QB Ben Roethlisberger, which resulted in “Mr. Big Chest” forcing a trade to the Raiders.
While the Roethlisberger/Brown feud has dominated internet headlines, and Brown has had plenty to say about it, Big Ben had yet to speak publicly about what went wrong. Until now.
He spoke with the Pittsburgh local news station KDKA at at length and said he was caught off guard by Brown going nuclear because things seemed fine as until the last week of the season when Brown began publicly voicing his displeasure. Roethlisberger also mentioned that he tried to reach out to AB on numerous occasions to speak face-to-face, but Brown refused to return his calls.
He did acknowledge that he regrets comments he made on his radio show that were perceived as critical of Brown, and apologized if that’s what led to things falling apart.
Brown obviously has a different account of the situation, but therein lies the problem.
