Browns GM John Dorsey has a reputation as a no nonsense, old school football guy, but he’s apparently been hiding a sense of humor underneath his trademark sweatshirt.
Dorsey and Ballard developed a tight relationship while working together in the Chiefs front office, and Dorsey likes to keep in touch with his old pal by giving him a prank call in the war room while Ballard is on the clock. This year, Dorsey dialed up the Colts war room while Ballard was trying to finalize his second round draft pick. Ballard knew it was Dorsey and immediately hung up to get back to running his billion dollar NFL organization.
Dorsey’s shenanigans were captured in the Colts all-access draft documentary. The two also used their big boy phone privileges to hammer out a trade earlier in the round that allowed the Browns to move and draft LSU corner Greedy Williams.
Hey Chris Ballard, is your refrigerator running? Well you better go catch it.
