Burt Reynolds was an all-time macho Hollywood badass, and loved football, dating back to his days as a reserve at Florida State. After Reynolds passed away last week, many who knew him shared stories in remembrance, including longtime NFL madman Bill Romanowski, who had a role in the 2005 remake of Reynold’s 1974 classic football flick ‘The Longest Yard.’ Reynolds had a cameo in the remake and refused to be treated with kid gloves.
According to Romo, while filming his touchdown run, Reynolds called out former Oklahoma All-American and NFL linebacker Brian Bosworth for not hitting him hard enough as he dove into the endzone for the score. He was 69 freakin’ years old at the time. After getting called out, Bosworth obliged and drilled him.
Burt Reynolds was a man’s man and this story about calling out the Boz will only add to his legend. RIP.
