Clay Travis is reacting to last night’s Thursday Night Football game where the Rams dominated the Patriots. The Rams got off to a hot start, and they never looked back.
The big takeaway from this game from a Patriots’ perspective is Cam Newton. Cam Newton had another bad game. The Patriots scored only 3 points, as Newton went 9 for 16 for 119 yards. Also an interception that was returned for a touchdown for the Rams.
Clay believes that Cam’s time as a starting quarterback in the NFL is over. Clay believed that Cam Newton was going to be the single most interesting storyline in the NFL. The Patriots gave Cam a one year shot at proving himself, and it was plausible that Cam was going to be able to earn himself one more long term deal in the NFL. It’s very far into the season and with Cam has performing the way he has, Clay believes that Cam will not get another shot at becoming an NFL starter.
