Baker Mayfield rocketed into the Top 10 in NFL jersey sales after his surprising debut win over the Jets, and even though Colin has been critical of Mayfield and didn’t think he should have been picked first overall, he thinks one thing is clear. Mayfield is a star.
Colin isn’t saying Baker is one of the top QB’s in the league – he hasn’t started a game yet – but it’s undeniable he has whatever qualities move the needle. Some players are elite on the field, but don’t resonate with fans and aren’t marketable. Mayfield has already captivated NFL fans and he’s only played a little over a half of football.
