Jimmy Butler demanded to be traded out of Minnesota several weeks and things only got messier yesterday, when Butler showed up to T’Wolves practice and went scorched earth on everyone from Karl-Anthony Towns to GM Scott Layden.
Butler seems determined to be traded to a team where he can be the man instead of sharing the spotlight and stats with other stars, and being a headache is nothing new for him. He was reportedly the worst teammate on Team USA in Rio and previously forced his way out of Chicago, but Colin thinks Butler isn’t a good enough player to be “the man” on a title team.
Instead of trying to take a page out of Michael Jordan’s pre-title winning playbook and trying do it all himself, he should learn from the Warriors, who have a collection of superstars that have all sacrificed to win titles. That’s what the modern NBA is all about, and Butler doesn’t seem to get it.
“There’s always a couple of guys in the NBA: Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose and currently Jimmy Butler who all want to be ‘Like Mike’ — instead of be like the Golden State Warriors.”@ColinCowherd on how Jimmy Butler can learn from MJ about teamwork pic.twitter.com/3pKTQrOHE3
