Ever since LeBron made his decision to leave Cleveland for L.A., some Laker fans have refused to accept him as one of their own, even going as far as vandalizing a mural declaring him the King of L.A. because they viewed it as a slight to Kobe Bryant.
At a packed Lakers media day yesterday, LeBron was asked by one reporter how he would prove his loyalty to L.A. fans. He responded by simply stating that he signed a 4-year deal, which should be enough.
Colin thinks the idea that LeBron has to prove his loyalty to Laker fans is ridiculous since they need him way more than he needs them after being a bottom feeder for the past five years. LeBron has proven throughout his career that he’s loyal to himself more than one team, and it’s no different with the historic Lakers franchise.
LeBron is in L.A. That should be good enough for die-hard fans. If it isn’t, he doesn’t care, and shouldn’t.
