Despite the Lakers more than respectable 17-10 start to the year, the rumors are already flying that Luke Walton’s days could be numbered in Los Angeles.
Walton finds himself in the same dilemma as other coaches who have inherited LeBron, and is finding out that no matter how good he is, it won’t be good enough. If he wins, he should because he has LeBron, if the Lakers struggle with a roster full of young players, he gets the blame.
Unlike Erik Spoelstra and David Blatt, Walton has to win with the added pressure of the L.A. spotlight with Magic Johnson looking over his shoulder, and Kobe as a consultant. Right now, Luke has the toughest job in American sports.
