Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers’ best days working together appear to be behind them, and their increasingly icy relationship may end if the Packers miss the playoffs this season. Even if they do make the postseason, it feels like McCarthy may be on his way out, and Colin thinks he would be a great fit for the recently vacated Cleveland job.
Not only is McCarthy an above average – offensive minded – NFL head coach with a history of working with young quarterbacks, but he also won’t want personnel control and has a history of working with Cleveland GM John Dorsey and his staff of former Green Bay execs.
McCarthy’s name isn’t being discussed in the current rumor mill, but he would be an excellent fit with the Browns, and the perfect coach to develop Baker Mayfield in a stable environment.
