Colin took some bruises with rare losing Week 10 record (1-3-1), but still sits at a respectable 29-19-2 on the season. In gambling, you have to have no memory like a great cover corner, and Colin is already forgotten last week like the guy in Memento as he looks ahead to some Week 11 lines to get back on the right side.
Here are his Week 11 Blazin’ 5 plays:
- Titans (+2) at Colts – Colin is thrilled about Andrew Luck’s comeback and loves the Colts turnaround, but he has to take the Titans getting 2 in Indy. Tennessee is coming off two impressive wins over the Patriots and Cowboys thanks to a a stout defense that ranks 1st in PPG Allowed (16.8) and Red Zone TD % Allowed (34.8), and 6th in YPG Allowed (328.0) and Pass YDS/Game Allowed (228.2) Offensively, Marcus Mariota has completed over 65% of his passes in his last four games and provided enough points to compliment the defense. The Titans aren’t flashy but they always punch you in the mouth and get the outright win and cover here. 27-23.
2. Broncos (+7) at Chargers – The Chargers are the superior team here, but Colin is betting the number, with the Broncos getting 7 on the road. L.A. never has a home field advantage playing in a soccer stadium, and will have trouble with a surging Denver D that ranks 3rd in the NFL since Week 7 in YPG Allowed (284.3), 3rd Down Conversion % Allowed (29.7), and Sacks/Game (4.0). The Broncos are also only allowing 72.0 Rush Yards/Game during that stretch (T-2nd least) and Von Miller has feasted on Philip Rivers with 13 sacks in only career 12 games. Case Keenum and the Denver offense may not strike fear in the hearts of their opponents, but they lead the NFL in big plays – 20+ yards – with 62. The Charger win but the Broncos cover getting a 7 spot. 30-26, L.A.
3. Raiders (+5.5) at Cardinals – Colin won’t be watching this game because it’ll be unwatchable, but he’s gonna bet it and take Gruden’s Grinders getting 5.5 on the road in Arizona. The Cardinals have lost to everyone not named the Niners this year, thanks to an inept offense that ranks last in the NFL in Total YPG (236.2), Rush YPG (70.4), and big plays of 20+ yards (34). They’re pathetic 13.8 PPG is good for 31st in the league and should allow Oakland to hang around and cover. The Raiders are a mess, but they haven’t totally quit on Gruden yet and win a retina burning close one. 27-24, Silver and Black.
4. Vikings (+3) at Bears (SNF) – The Vikings getting a field goal on the road in Chicago on Sunday Night is Colin’s favorite bet of the week. Khalil Mack and the Bears are one of the better stories in the league this year, but Minnesota has the better defense, the better QB, the better overall roster, and has won the last 3 meetings between the teams. Mike Zimmer’s D ranks 1st in opponent 3rd Down Conversion % (25.7), is tied for 1st in Sacks (31), and 2nd in Opponent Red Zone TD % (39.4). It all adds up to the Bears and Trubisky settling for field goals instead of touchdowns, which comes back to bite them, Minnesota covers and wins outright, 30-27.
5. Chiefs (+3.5) at Rams (MNF) – Colin likes everything about Sean McVay and the Rams, but loves the Chiefs getting 3.5 in the regular season game of the year that was abruptly moved to L.A. from Mexico City due to unplayable field. The Rams offense has been a juggernaut, but defensively they can’t stop anyone and have allowed 36.6 PPG in their last three. They should get torched by a Pat Mahaomes-led offense that ranks 1st in YDS/Play (6.95) and Offensive TD’s with 41. Kansas City also ranks second in the NFL in Total YDS/Game (423.1), and PPG (35.3). This one is gonna be a shootout, but Andy Reid gets the cover and the outright win, 33-31.
