The Elmhurst City Council approved a $192,026 reimbursement to the Hahn Street project developer for the installation of sprinklers in the public garage below the residential property.
The recommendation from the Development, Planning and Zoning Committee was approved in a 10-1 vote. Alderman Michael Bram was the dissenting vote and Aldermen Michael Honquest, Patrick Wagner and Chris Healy were absent. According to Alderman Scott M. Levin, when the plans for the parking garage were being developed, the city’s fire prevention bureau advised that a fire suppression system was not required because it was a grade-level open-air garage.
