Hubie Brown is best known as a top NBA analyst, but his credibility comes from coaching in the league across parts of 4 decades. There isn’t a ton of quality footage of Hubie teaching the game in his prime years, but one gem from the vault of is popping up online and it’s a fantastic watch.
The clip comes from the high school Five-Star Basketball Camp from sometime in the 70’s, in which he preaches the benefits of the behind-the-back pass in a time when the Bobby Knight’s of the world were decrying it as shameless showboating.
Hubie puts on a literal behind-the-back passing clinic for the campers while providing his own color commentary as he whips no-looks from every angle on the court.
Watch Really White Chocolate do some work.
