The Arizona Cardinals will officially go on the clock on Thursday, and still haven’t tipped their hand as to their plans for the #1 pick. Throughout the pre-draft process, it seemed more certain by the day that they would dump quarterback Josh Rosen after just one season in favor of a reboot with Kyler Murray, but recent reports state that Gm Steve Keim is content to stand pat with Rosen and take Ohio state pass rush freak Nick Bosa are increasing. Colin agrees with keeping Rosen and drafting Bosa from a rebuild approach standpoint and because he’s not as high on Murray as most.
FS1 Lead College Football Analyst Joel Klatt stopped by The Herd today, to explain to Colin why he isn’t buying the recent reports that Rosen is the franchise’s future, and still firmly believes Murray will end up in Arizona when the pick is finally in.
Klatt thinks Murray is a perfect fit in Kliff Kingsbury’s modified air raid offense, and predicts Rosen would struggle because he’s more of a precision read quarterback. He thinks Rosen can have NFL success in the right offense, but it won’t be in Arizona. Klatt said he’s 90% sure Murray will be the pick, based on his sources in the building, and doesn’t think it’s surprising when you project how both QB’s would look under Kingsbury.
Watch Colin and Klatt argue it out over which direction Arizona should go at #1.
