Jon Gruden will take his second crack at the draft as the head everything for the Raiders, and desperately needs to hit some home runs to jumpstart his reboot in Oakland. Before Chucky was shown the door in Tampa, he hit on exactly the type of player he’s looking for now with lockdown corner – and part time chain snatcher – Aqib Talib with the 20th pick in the first round of what would be his final draft with the Bucs.
NFL Films tweeted out a video of the actual call from Gruden telling Talib he’s going to be a Buc, and Gruden is as intense and fired up about it as you would imagine Jon Gruden would be on draft day. Talib is also excited, and is ready to put on pads after Gruden asks him if he can stop then Carolina All-Pro Steve Smith.
This is just great stuff, man. I’ll tell you what.
