After another disappointing loss to the lowly Suns over the weekend, the Lakers sit 10th in the Western Conference, and look destined to miss the Playoffs. Although most fans and media didn’t expect L.A. to contend for a title in LeBron’s first year, the season has been a disaster.
Colin has always defended LeBron, but he thinks James lack of leadership since signing has been a significant reason for the team coming unglued as it approaches the end of the season. Unlike Tom Brady, who still goes out of his way to connect with lesser players after 6 Super Bowls, LeBron has seemingly never done the same with these young teammates and head coach Luke Walton. Add this lack of chemistry to the Anthony Davis trade rumors, and the result is this dumpster fire of a season.
LeBron has always been a strong leader, but this year he has failed miserably. He’ll need to be better next year if he’s going to ever lead the Lakers to anything. Another repeat of this year will hurt his legacy.
