The New York Mets season has been a verified dumpster fire, but one of their minor league affiliates is giving them a run for their money.
The Class A Florida State League Port St. Lucie Mets decided to let off some postgame 4th of July fireworks, but the show quickly turned into a ballpark BBQ when an area directly outside of the stadium caught fire and turned into a four alarm blaze.
No one was injured, luckily, so it’s OK to laugh at the almost perfect symbolism of the franchise’s incompetence. Maybe they should change it to their new logo.
The fireworks for the St. Lucie Mets did not go well tonight at First Data Field. They set a fire outside the stadium.

This guy was in the stands with his mom when the fire started. She used her mom senses to figure out something was wrong pretty quick.
