Complicated handshakes are serious business in today’s NBA. Gone are the days of a high five and a pat on the butt, NBA players today have choreographed routines that take hours of practice to get right.
At an NBA Awards show from a couple years ago, Drake and Will Ferrell appeared together in a sketch as the newest NBA Handshake Coaches to help get everyone’s greeting game on point.
The overly intense duo ran through some hilarious trademark dap like “The Jenga,” “The Prom,” and everyone’s favorite, “The Obi Won Kenobi.”
Former Raptor DeMar DeRozan makes an appearance and gets the boot camp treatment from Drake, who mocks his name for questioning him. He was eventually was shipped out of Toronto for his playoff performance, not his subpar handshakes.
Regardless of your opinion of Drake as an NBA Finals superfan, he does have unexpectedly great comedic timing.
The handshake game is strong with @Drake & Will Ferrell ?
