The iconic scene in Jaws where Roy Schneieder spots Jaws stalking swimmers in the Cape Cod water and screams at everyone to get out is anxiety inducing, but it’s nothing compared to the real thing.
A real-life version of the scene unfolded recently in Panama City, Florida – captured by someone staying in a high rise beach front hotel – when a giant shark began circling and stalking a swimmer in open water. She was completely unaware she was was being scouted for lunch until beachgoers began screaming in a panic for her to get the hell out.
What ensued was a nerve-wracking race to the shore with shark trailing feet behind, until Jaws eventually lost interest and gave up the pursuit. Don’t watch this if you ever want to swim in the ocean again. It’s a death trap. Of course, it happened in Florida.
