The College of DuPage Board of Trustees on June 23 approved a $172.9 million operating budget that assumes a flat tuition rate and operating tax levy.
“One of the best things we can do for our students is not raise their tuition,” board Chairwoman Deanne Mazzochi said. “This budget is based on best financial practices that reduce costs to our students and taxpayers while keeping intact the quality education and services provided by College of DuPage.”
Trustee Dianne McGuire was the sole trustee to vote against the budget.
Tuition and fees were reduced by $5 per credit hour to $135 per credit hour for in-district students, starting with the spring 2016 semester. The budget assumes the per credit hour rate will remain at $135 per credit hour for all of fiscal year 2017.
