It seems flat out bizarre that we’re heading into Week 15 and there’s still tons of buzz around the Browns. Baker Mayfield has been upright and effective since Freddie Kitchens took over playcalling from from Todd Haley, and Cleveland has won 3 out of 4.
Most have resided to the seemingly foregone conclusion that the Browns will miss out on this year’s playoffs, but there is still a ridiculously fine needle they could thread to win the AFC North. It’s a 5000/1 shot, but the fact that it’s Week 15 and the 5-7-1 Browns haven’t been mathematically eliminated from the postseason is the franchise equivalent of a Super Bowl.
If this goes down, Cleveland would make the playoffs for the first time since 2002, and Mike Tomlin and Jim Harbaugh would certainly be fired for totally and completely collapsing down the stretch. Take into consideration, the Steelers are currently 1st at 7-5-1, and Baltimore is 2nd at 7-6.
Here it is:
The #Browns – yes, the #Browns, can still win the AFC North.
Here’s how:
– CLE would need to win their last 3 vs DEN, CIN & BAL.
– PIT would have to lose their last 3 vs NE, NO & CIN.
– BAL would have to lose to TB or LAC. 1 out of the 2.
Unlikely… but would be CRAZY.
