The members of the college’s Presidential Search Committee on March 31 reduced the number of candidate finalists from four to three following a recommendation by a subcommittee of the search committee. The identities of the three finalists could be revealed as soon as the next Board of Trustees meeting April 7.
The COD board voted 4-1 in October 2015 to fire embattled President Robert Breuder. Presidential Search Committee Chairman Lee Daniels thanked committee members for their work on the committee.
Originally, more than 385 people applied for the position, Daniels had told COD trustees. Chicago-based William E. Hay & Company and education consultant Robert Dickeson reviewed the applications and whittled that number down to 64 and then to 20.
