A 51-year-old diver Rainier Schrimpf (no relation to Detlef Schrempf) from South Africa miraculously survived a life and death encounter with a massive swallowed by a whale while snorkeling of the coast of Port Elizabeth.
Schrimpf and his crew were were in the water filming a massive marine life migration in the region when he was suddenly swept up in the mouth of a 15-ton Bryde’s Whale who was skimming for food. Schrimpf was eventually let go after the whale went under the water, and the entire event was captured on film by his crew.
