Deontay Wilder is arguably the hardest punching boxer in the fight game today, but instead of collapsing an opposing heavyweight with one of his vicious shots, Wilder ended up breaking the jaw of a guy in a mascot suit during a PR appearance on ESPN Deportes to promote his upcoming fight with Tyson Fury.
During the segment, Wilder was asked – for some reason – to blast a sombrero wearing tortilla mascot, so he obliged by unloading on tortilla man with a bareknuckle shot that broke the jaw of the poor dude inside the suit. He also knocked the eye off the costume.
In the clip, you can actually see the guy writhing in pain on the ground, despite the suit maintaining a smile. Wilder claims he didn’t know there was an actual person inside the suit (?) because he apparently doesn’t get how mascots work.
Watch one of the most painful segments in TV history. Ay, Dios mio!
Deontay Wilder didnt know there was a person inside the suit and apparently broke his jaw thru the suit. This shit is HILARIOUS tho pic.twitter.com/kcIZNVoReG
