The Formula 3 Macau Grand Prix in China was suspended early Sunday after 17-year-old German driver Sophia Floersch accelerated through a hair pin turn on Lap 4 at 170 MPH and launched off another car, over a safety barrier and into a tower occupied by race officials and photographers. After watching the video it’s hard to fathom that no one was killed or suffered life-threatening injuries. It’s easily one of the most horrifying accident in motosports history, if not at the top of the list.
Terrifying!

The reversal angle of the crash is somehow even more terrifying.

Floersch suffered a spinal fracture, but was able to tweet an update to let everyone know she is okay. A photographer and race official were also transported from the scene with minor, non-life threatening injuries.
Just wanted to let everybody know that I am fine but will be going into Surgery tomorow morning. Thanks to the @fia and @hwaag_official @MercedesAMGF1 who are taking great care of me.
