ESPN has been experimenting with the novel idea of a two man broadcast booth and analyst Booger McFarland commenting on the game from a crane that follows the action up and down the sidelines.
Aside from the ongoing debate regarding if the crane actually adds anything to the TV broadcast, it’s pretty undeniable that it sucks if you’re a fan attending the actual game. This was on full display last night when a Giants fan lost it after his view of the field was completely blocked when the crane was moved into position to break down the action.
In another middle finger to the fans, the crane has a giant flatscreen mounted on the back of it so you can see the game action going on directly behind it. The moral of this story is beware of the crane if you’re thinking about going out to see a Monday Night Football game.
