Jimmer Fredette never made it in the NBA, but the former college hoops star out of BYU has established himself as the Michael Jordan of the Chinese League.
Over the weekend, Jimmer went off for a ridiculous 75 points – including 40 in the fourth quarter – on 24 of 34 from the field, 7 of 10 from three, and 20 of 21 from the free-throw line. Despite 3/4 of a hundred, his Shanghai sharks lost a nail biter to the always pesky Beijing Beikong Fly Dragons, 137-136. Jimmer will never have the success many predicted when he was taken in the 1st round of the NBA Draft, but 75 is nothing to sneeze at, whether it’s in China or in a backyard pickup game.
