Long driving is the carnival sideshow of the sport of golf, but sometimes the freak show can be amusing. For example, long drive champ Justin James wouldn’t sniff money in a PGA tournament, but his recent attempt to drive the green on a 555-yard Par 5 at Bay Hill across a massive lake is worth a watch.
To be clear, the wraparound Par 5 is measured at 555-yards, but it’s a measly 387 yards to clear the water from tee to green. No one would obviously ever try this in a tour event because it’s competitive suicide, but this isn’t that. James put a bunch of balls in the water, but did eventually put balls on the green from three different tee boxes. He better enjoy it, because judging by his swing he’ll eventually snap his back in half at some point.
Watch this dude swing from the heels in a display that will make golf purists vomit all over themselves.
