Before Saturday’s massive Penn State/Ohio State showdown in Happy Valley, the tailgating was in full swing, but Pennsylvania State Police took some unusual steps to break up one group of parties that got out of hand.
In addition to deploying some ground patrol, the po also dispatched a low flying helicopter directly over the party that created man made hurricane force winds and sent everything that wasn’t nailed down flying. The helicopter may have broken FAA regulations with the unusual tactic, but the biggest crime here is the wasted beer.
This seems a little excessive and unnecessarily dangerous. Here’s a ground view.
@NBCNews Crazy tactics by the police at a Penn State tailgate yesterday. Looks like FAA regulations were broken when a police helicopter flew down low to take out tailgates. Very unsafe as the police had mounted horses and the kids could have been trampled. pic.twitter.com/9w2isiBkjp
