Phil Mickelson has been known to place the occasional wager, whether it’s a seven-figure bet on a sporting event or hustling golf courses for big money. The truth is Lefty would take action on two ants racing toward a popsicle stick on the sidewalk if you let him.
Even though the winner of he and Tiger Woods’ pay-per-view head-to-head super match at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas on November 23 will walk away with a cool $9 million, Mickelson and Woods plan on making things more interesting by taking major side-action during the match.
During an interview on Inside the NBA, following the Lakers win over the Nuggets, Lefty told Shaq, Kenny and Charles, that he and Tiger will both be mic’d up for the entire commercial-free match so fans can hear them go back and forth like they never have before, and that there will be side challenges during the match between he and Woods for six figures or more.
Initially, this idea of this match sounded hokey, but watching Lefty and Tiger try to hustle each other for 18 holes could end up being a good watch.
