The Red Sox World Series parade was largely a success, but there was one casualty. The World Series trophy.
As has become custom in these parades, fans routinely launched beer toward moving duckboats to help quench the thirst of there favorite players, but one fan committed the ultimate party foul when a misfired toss ended up hitting the trophy and bending some of the trademark pennants. Oops.
To be fair, out of all the major sports trophies, the Commissioner’s Trophy is by far the weakest. The Stanley Cup could go out for an all night bender at the strip club and not be any worse for the wear. It’s nothing that can’t be fixed, but the trophy will definitely have a hangover today.
