Reuben Foster was released by the 49ers after a police were called to the team hotel in Tampa in response to domestic violence allegations by his 28-year-old ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis. Ennis was the same girlfriend who accused Foster of domestic violence last February, but later recanted her allegations in open court, which allowed Foster to avoid prosecution and continue playing in the NFL.
In an interview with ABC, she now says her court testimony was a lie to protect Foster, and that he did actually abuse her. Foster has been placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list until his most recent legal case is resolved, but was claimed off waivers by the Redskins, and is still being paid under his contract.
